Please do share extra details about Unplugged.

Well, it was written with the intention to unite Malaysians, so that we can make Malaysia a great nation once again. It is a call for all Malaysians to transform our diversity into a pillar of strength and not as an excuse for weakness. Funnily enough, the movie spoke along the same lines of thinking as this book.

What inspired you to write this book?

Well, there were two main reasons. Firstly, to share my belief that we should hand over this nation responsibly to the next to rethink the past, present and future. Written with the help of his father, former court of appeal judge, Dato’ Mohd Noor Abdullah, the book features a blending of two different styles, personalities and generations. Essentially, the book is a forewarning of what may happen in the future and calls for all Malaysians to unite. Datuk Azrin reveals more on its content and the reason behind writing the book.

Who is the main target audience for this book?

All Malaysians, but especially the young minds of the nation. They are our future.

What do you hope readers will gain from this book?

Well, it is in essence an inspiration for Malaysians to see the benefit of us working and coming together, against the danger of disunity and fighting with each other.

What are some of your personal favourite sections in the book?

I love chapter nine (Cherish Life with Gratitude), which is about being thankful for what we have. I also love chapter 10 where I talk about our prayers, not in a religious way, but the gratitude to our ancestors, and for the next generation.

Where is this book available?

At all major bookstores including MPH, Kinokuniya, Popular, Times and Borders.
