In her sophomore Blue Book collection, Francesca Amfitheatr­of dives deep into the art of transforma­tion, writes Lily Ong

Everyone recalls different images when Tiffany & Co is mentioned in conversati­on. Most women will summon up the image of the brand’s shop windows on Fifth Avenue in New York where Audrey Hepburn’s Holly Golightly snacked on her Danish pastry and coffee while browsing through its display. Since its founding in 1837, Tiffany & Co has built its success on the fundamenta­ls of glamour and luxury. These values are reflected in its Blue Book collection, an annual series of glittering treasures that is the highlight of every jewellery collector’s shopping calendar. First introduced in 1845, this exclusive linene of jewellery takes its name from a catalogue that was offered only to Tiffany & Co’s most prized customers in those days. Only the finest gems are incorporat­ed into the list of masterpiec­es found in the Blue Book and this custom lives on until today. We must say that the brand’s design director, Francesca Amfitheatr­of, has done a fantastic job of keeping Tiffany’s stories, history and tradition alive without losing sight of the future. In this regard, she applies the same Midas touch to the Blue Book collection.n. Having garnered praise for her inaugurall Tiffany T collection, inspired by architectu­ral elements and a streamline­dd T-shaped concept in 2014, Amfitheatr­off debuted her first Blue Book collection lastast year to critical acclaim—a series of beautifulu­tiful pieces that reflect her fascinatio­n with thehe sea and marine life. She returns to the theme of underwater motifs one more time for her sophomore Blue Book collection this year. Titled ‘The Art of Transforma­tion’, Amfitheatr­of immersed herself in Mother Nature and translated her observatio­ns into covetable earrings, necklaces, cuffs and rings.
