E-NOVATION AT ITS BEST
Once at Estoril, the first thing that catches my eye is a cool, white E-class, with lines painted on the ground, originating from the vehicle. At first I figured it to be a mere artistic display, but once I alighted from my elegant carriage, I was unable to contain my curiosity and asked the Mercedes-benz rep, about the art display. Turns out I was wrong, the lines weren’t painted for show, rather, it was to show the distance covered by the car’s radars. Which then made more sense about the board I noticed, which read ‘80m’, stating the distance of that particular radar. However, that only piqued my curiosity further. “What radar?” I asked in a perplexed tone. The rep however ushered me into the main area, gesturing that all my queries will be answered in there. The radar, as I learnt, was only one of the many novelties packed into the latest generation E-class. When I stepped in, I was greeted by Christoph von Hugo, an expert in the active safety and assistance systems,ystems, who introduced me to the Pre-safe system which comprises two aspects, the Impulse Side and Sound.
