Cover stars Marcus Teo and Juvene Goh embrace the model life with gusto and panache while keeping it real

Ever the courteous couple, Marcus Teo and Juvene Goh arrived right on schedule at the studio, fresh-faced and ready to go. As Juvene settled in for hair and makeup, Marcus immediately got down to the business of ‘learning something new every day’ by bustling around the studio to see what knowledge he could glean for the day. From quietly trailing the photographer, Tian Xing, to observe how he creates lighting for photo shoots to grilling the Tatler team about the publishing process, his curiosity had us all believing that he would make a pretty good journalist if he wanted. Fuelled by black coffee and Pods Mars that Juvene had generously brought to share with the team, everything moved like clockwork. Marcus is accustomed to being photographed by us; the son of Dato’ Richard Teo and Datin Winnie Loo has had his adolescence documented in our magazine over the past two decades via features and photo spreads—from the early teens to his early twenties. It seemed fitting then, that as he enters into an important stage of his life, soon to be the head of a family of his own, that we capture it in our magazine. For all her expressions to the contrary, Juvene turned out to be a consummate professional when it came to posing. While she is not as familiar with us, compared to her fiancé, Juvene seemed comfortable and managed to portray what Tian Xing and stylist Victor Goh had asked of her which came out pretty well in the feature.
