Personally, I do
believe in ghosts and spirits. The main reason for this is because it was part of my growing up and my family’s belief system. This superstition had something to do with bringing about good luck or avoiding bad luck. It works like a sign—something my family thinks as being an indication of what is happening or is going to happen. Believing in ghosts and spirits is also part of a cultural and religious tradition that Buddhists practise. Also, I have personally experienced paranormal activity—i have had several ghostly encounters and this has solidified my opinion on the matter. I have to admit that they were quite frightening and confronting experiences, but at the end of it, I just sat down and said a prayer, which made me feel protected, comforted and at peace.
