A million things go

-

through my mind when I pack, and I will pay attention to the tiniest detail, even if it is a short trip. Once everything has perfectly fitted in my bag, I will go through my list again while staring at my luggage, to look for reasons that can possibly change my mind. Maybe it’s also due to the fact that my travelling has mostly got to do with work, so I need to ensure I look good and if ever I am faced with any instances of a wardrobe emergency or sudden change of plans, I will be always prepared. Hence the paranoid side of me kicks in, foreseeing these situations and getting myself all geared up for every possible outcome during my trip. It may sound quite stressful and tiring in the beginning but at the end of the day, the joy and ease of mind from knowing that you are prepared for everything and anything is indescribable.

Compartmentalised packer

• Place your mostly used items on top to make things easier to find. • Keep basic items like cards, keys and sunglasses in a day bag. • Place heavy items like shoes above the luggage wheels.

Stylish packer

• Bring what you think is in style at the moment. • Fold outfits with Tumi hangers on so unpacking them will be a breeze.

Precise packer

• Label all your belongings to avoid getting mixed with others. • Bring heavier fabric clothing so it can be re-worn a few times. • Remove all previous tags and stickers from the outer case to avoid causing a confusion during baggage handling.

Well-prepared packer

• Ask yourself what’s the purpose of this trip so it’s easier to decide what you should and shouldn’t bring. • Make paper copies of important documents and save them online. • Pack accessories into a bag that can double up as a clutch. • Charge your electronics before going to the airport and bundle up your chargers to avoid tangles.

Spontaneous packer

• Always pack your essentials first. • Check that all compartments are free from anything that can be confiscated later on. • Organise all small and loose items into packing cubes.
