Roger Vivier’s creative head honcho, Bruno Frisoni, shares his perfect day in the City of Light
Paris is the city where I live and work. Most of my friends are here. I know it very well and whenever I leave for work or a holiday, I have this urge to go back. It is in Paris that I discovered what fashion means, and how Parisians interpret, use and are inspired by fashion. It’s the perfect city for people like myself who love museums and galleries—paris itself is a museum. On a typical day I would wake up and have breakfast, read the news and my emails, make a few phone calls and then find time to spend with friends, going to galleries and exhibitions or checking out museums I love. One of the best things about having art collector friends like William Zhao is that they can help me sneak into private artist ateliers—priceless experiences. I like to read beautiful art and photography books, so I enjoy shopping at interesting places like Karl Lagerfeld’s Librairie 7L on Rue de Lille or Galignani on Rue de Rivoli. I also love antique galleries like Alexandre Biaggi and Jacques Lacoste on Rue de Seine, and when I go there I always find the time to sneak into Dries Van Noten nearby. The best place to eat is at home when my husband cooks for me. He is a brilliant cook. Otherwise, I like Restaurant Apicius on Rue d’artois for a super glamourous Parisian dinner, and have drinks at L’hôtel on Rue des Beaux Arts. During the day, Café de Flore on Boulevard Saint-germain remains a classic place to go with a girlfriend. When my office day is done, I would walk along Ile St Louis to get home, where I’d freshen up before leaving again to see a homage to Pierre Boulez at the Paris Opera.
