Samantha Lim stays in tune with the watchmaking industry’s tempo, taking note of Jaeger-lecoultre’s latest timepiece, among others

When the Sultan of Brunei orders over 100 pairs of polo boots from onene leather goods maker,er, you can bet your bottom dollar on thee latter being a true virtuoso. Comprisedd of a father and two sons, Rodolfo, Eduardo and Hector, Casa Fagliano caught the eye of Jaeger-lecoultre almostmost a decade ago, which transpired in bothh parties’ first partnership in 2011. And 2018 sees yet another alliance by way of the extremely rare Reverso Tributebute Duoface on a Casa Fagliano leather strap—rap— emphasised via an engraving on the casebackaseback that reads ‘Limited Edition – One of 100’.00’. A handsome match for the Reverso’s pink gold case, each two-tone strap is literally one-of-a-kind. Minor discrepancies are proof that the Argentinian trio created each and every strap by hand; a novelty in an age of machine-made goods. A trademark of the Reverso Tribute Duoface are the reversible dials designed to accommodate different time zones—slide out, flip over, and slide the case back in to reveal another watch face. The Reverso created together with Casa Fagliano gives the wearer the choice of a slate-grey, satin-brushed sunray dial or a silvered dial embossed with Clous de Paris guilloche.
