Longtime lovebirds Dato’ Deven Nathan and Aarti Doshi are set to tie the knot this month

For two rather contrasting personalities, this pair sure make a lovely couple. Although both are involved in different industries, they cofounded boutique agency Perseid Consultancy, for which Aarti serves as managing director. Apart from that, she also assists lawyer Dato’ Deven (whom she refers to as a serial entrepreneur), with his ventures through Devendranathan Holding. Those who no longer believe in the magic of matchmaking might be surprised to find out that this is exactly how the two met— through a friend who persistently tried to get them introduced to each other. “She said nothing but praises about him to convince me to agree to a date,” said Aarti. Dato’ Deven then added, “We communicated via text messages and ended up having a laugh about our situation. Eventually, we met for coffee as we felt we owed it to our friend who took the trouble to set us up.” The relationship then developed organically, and they became great friends which led to them becoming a couple. The rest, as they say, is history, considering the upcoming wedding! With the looming wedding bells ahead, the practical couple are doing away with pre-wedding photo shoots, but instead want friends and family to be part of their celebration through week-long festivities that are a fusion of both the bride and groom’s traditions: Ceylonese and Gujarati. Ultimately, they just want to be present in the moment, celebrating love with their closest relatives and friends. It is, of course, planned by the couple through their agency, with the assistance of friends and partners who are ready and excited for their union. As for the hashtag, #Andwefinallydo, it was selected by the couple as it incorporates both their initials and their family and friends’ reactions when they learnt that they would be getting married—finally.
