Dion Tan and Mah Li-sheen celebrate their love for each other with a spectacular do at W Kuala Lumpur

Having first met through mutual friends, Dion Tan and Mah Li-sheen forged a quick bond that blossomed from friendship to love. Dion recalls vividly the instance he fell in love with his bride. “It was on our first holiday together, and when I found that Sheen had already packed the hotel toiletries in her luggage, beating me to it, the ‘Chinaman’ in me knew I had found my soul mate,” he said, laughing at the memory. The ensuing series of events that marked their transition from long-term sweethearts to husband and wife reflect the couple’s fun-loving nature. In addition to a destination wedding do at the Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort for only close family and friends, the couple also hosted a grand reception at W Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Upon arrival, guests excitedly snapped OOTDS at the psychedelicthemed art installation and gold, ornate photowall. They also sampled flavourful ice cream gelatos punned after the names of the couple, like Mahcha and Mango TANGO. Half an hour before the ballroom doors opened, parents of the groom Tan Sri Danny Tan and Puan Sri Ivy Tan joined parents of the bride Mah Siew Hoe and Hooi Yoke Lin in greeting attendees. Guests filed into the ballroom in droves before 8pm, still pausing to take pictures of the artistic light exhibition at the entrance.
