Table Talk
Generation T Malaysia hosted a private dinner for 13 of our Tatler Tribe panellists of 2019, featuring 14 industry leaders at the coolest rooftop dining establishment in town, Cé La Vi KL
The delightful selection of gourmet our Tatler Tribe feasted on at the snazzy Cé La Vi in KL
For the third consecutive year, Malaysia Tatler has put together a panel of experts, fondly known as the Tatler Tribe, to help put-together the best possible list of young leaders for the Generation T list. The 14-strong panel in Malaysia joins over 100 Tatler Tribe members across Asia. To kick things off on a high note, we gathered Malaysia’s Tatler Tribe members for an intimate get-together over dinner and drinks. Knowing that our guest list was full of industry heavyweights who are well-travelled, knowledgeable and savvy, we had to pick the right venue to impress them. Enter Cé La Vi
KL. This rooftop restaurant, bar and lounge certainly ticks all the right boxes when it comes to creating a wow factor. A 360-degree panoramic view of the spectacular KL skyline? Check. Worldclass entertainment such as fire-eaters and jugglers performing while you tuck into your meal? Check. Posh interiors featuring Asian elements such as Oriental frameworks and accents to set the mood? Check. An award-winning menu served with fine wines, exciting cocktails and premium spirits? Double check. We made the call to trust our guts with Cé La Vi KL’S co-owner Modesto Marini, who is known to have a Midas touch with restaurants, and made the booking.
A VIEW TO THRILL
First to arrive that evening was business titan Tan Sri AK Nathan, the tycoon behind Eversendai, a global construction empire which has built some of the tallest buildings in the world such as The Burj Dubai and The Petronas Twin Towers. By the time fellow Tatler Tribe members Dato’ Rosemarie Wee and Kathy Lam walked in, Cé La Vi’s culinary brigade were surrounding them in full force to serve and please. Fortunately, the weather that evening was good enough for our guests to lounge at the restaurant’s outdoor patio. Longtime friends Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar and Azran OsmanRani soaked in the last rays of sunset while catching up with each other outdoors. There’s synergy when people from different backgrounds come together—especially if the mood and environment is right. Haresh Deol,
