Beauty Through the Decades
Collaborations between Lancôme and scientific experts led to the discovery of the evolution of microbiome over the years and its effects
Microbiome may sound like a term from the pages of a science fiction novel, but it actually lives in us! In fact, it is akin to DNA, as a groundbreaking study found that it’s unique to each individual. Skin microbiome is a valuable ecosystem of microorganisms that live on your epidermis—its balance is essential to skin’s health and appearance. Such is its importance that Lancôme hosted its first Skincare Symposium dedicated to the science of microbiome.
By inviting some of the world’s leading experts in microbiome research, like Richard Gallo of the University of California, and Dr Véronique Delvigne, Lancôme’s scientific director, revelations of their most-scientifically-accredited serum, the Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate were presented in Paris to 250 guests including entrepreneur Neelofa. Françoise Lehmann, global brand president of Lancôme International says, “Microbiome science is a promising new field of research. Our new Advanced Génifique harnesses its science and the research conducted by our own teams in collaboration with the world’s leading scientific experts.”
Enriched with seven pre- and probiotic fractions to strengthen skin through recovery and defence against external aggressors, the serum improves major signs of ageing in addition to sustaining radiance, evenness and firmness. To understand the vital role of microbiome in skincare, we must know what our skin goes through every decade of our lives and how the Advanced Génifique serum can combat those problems.
