2021 Novelties
As Audemar Piguet’s boutique at The Starhill reopens its doors this month, here are three novelties to watch out for
ROYAL OAK OFFSHORE SELFWINDING CHRONOGRAPH
The new line boasts five redesigned timepieces, exquisitely crafted from titanium, 18-carat pink gold and stainless steel in 43mm. A bolder, more refined collection, the case includes larger, polished chamfers on the edges, titanium and ceramic bezels, and the latest self-winding flyback chronograph: the Calibre 4401. A variety of elegant shades is further enhanced by the bolder criss-cross Méga Tapisserie pattern adorning the dial.
ROYAL OAK
This 34mm timepiece is carved from black ceramic and fashioned into sleek-cut armour for smaller wrists. Truly a standout piece of work, ceramic components are light as a feather, made ultra-resistant and scratchproof. The model is handfinished with Audemars Piguet’s trademark satin-brushing and polished chamfers. Featuring subtle accents of 18-carat pink-gold, the model reveals a meticulously engraved Guilloché pattern that makes for a timeless look.
CODE 11.59 SELFWINDING CHRONOGRAPH
The Code 11.59 collection takes a step further with the amalgation of 18k white or pink gold cases with a ceramic middle case. The black middle case was created with Bangerter, a Swiss company manufacturing precision components. Both models dance playfully between an elegant contrast of gold, ceramic components and hand-finished satinbrushing. Made to jump into the heat of the action, the watch is equipped with an intricate self-winding mechanism, with 70 hours of power reserve and water resistance. The glittering sapphire caseback reveals beautiful decorations, such as Côtes de Genève and circular graining. For a rugged finish, black rubber coating is added to the calfskin leather strap.
CURSE OF CURVES
The Cartier Tank Cintrée Limited Edition has been released in celebration of the Tank Cintrée’s 100th birthday. A limited edition of 150 numbered pieces were up for grabs but, incredibly, all sold before the watchmaker’s launch, proving how serious Cartier collectors can be about getting their hands on special-edition pieces. A faithful tribute to the original model, the Tank Cintrée Limited Edition has an elongated and curved design that allows the case to seamlessly sit on the wrist.
SKINNY WRISTS
There’s little to distract from Royal Oak Jumbo Extra-thin dials, which are limited to hour markers, hour and minute hands, a date window and minimal text. Now, Audemars Piguet is offering three new diamond-set versions of the iconic ticker, all of which are housed in a 39mm case made of either pink or white gold.
