Chef Hamada rejoins Iketeru in Hilton Kuala Lumpur
Iketeru, Hilton Kuala Lumpur is proud to welcome again Hamada Kunihiko, who now leads the award-wining Japanese restaurant as its new Japanese executive chef.
Having first joined the establishment back in 2005, Kunihiko went on to sharpen his knife in numerous other eateries, and now has a cumulative 40 years of experience under his belt—collected from eight different countries.
Despite his free-spirited nature, Hamada Kunihiko who was a jack-of-all-trades and dabbled in various interests when he was younger—with previous stints being an artist, waiter, travel consultant and even part of a Japanese drum troupe—always ended up back in the kitchen, though armed with the insights gathered from his many passions and ambitions that took him around the globe.
The talented chef dishes out his signature offerings at Iketeru, with an emphasis on the omakase experience. “The omakase concept gives me an opportunity to interact with my guests through food. And in this fast-paced world, it is also a good way for people to slow down and enjoy a carefully curated experience,” shares Kunihiko.
Kristine Chan, the hotel manager of Hilton Kuala Lumpur too had only praises for the property’s new Japanese executive chef. “Chef Hamada is extremely talented yet humble, and carries with him an impressive culinary background,” she expounded.
