FT do it again

-

FEDERAL Territories again came back from the dead to seal their second Malaysia Games win in Group B of yesterday.

Negri Sembilan took a 2-0 lead, before the city boys rose from the mist to win 3-2.

It was the same story against Terengganu on Wednesday, where FT were losing 3-1, but surged to win 4-3.

Coach K. Rajan’s men play Pahang today, and a win will take them into the knock-out stages,

“After coming from behind in two matches, I believe my players get lulled into a sleepy mode by the misty and cool venue as they are not used to playing in this holiday-destination kind of a setting,” joked Rajan.

“We lived dangerously in both our matches and we can’t afford this against Pahang, because nine points is what we need to be comfortable entries for the knock-out stages,” said Rajan.

In another Group B match, Terengganu were held 2-2 by Pahang.

“We were lucky to have secured one point because we were down 0-2 before we made the comeback. We can’t afford any more slip-ups if we want to play for a medal,” said Terengganu coach Nik Rozemi.

Pahang coach Mohamed Sufian, a former international, was relieved with the one point and is looking for a win against FT.

“With one tough match over, where we were only aiming for a point and won it, out next test will be against FT. FT are the surprise package, but we have nothing to lose and will go for broke,” said Sufian.
