aCOLOURFUL Slovakian setting was specially chosen to look similar to Taiwanese singer HebeTien’s fourth album’s concept art, which was directed by famed Slovakian photograph­er, Maria Svarbova.

Hebe said it was an amazing experience to work with Svarbova, a very talented young individual who injected a new stream of creativity into her album.

She also got to learn about Slovakia, a place where she would have otherwise not known.

Hebe also collaborat­ed with a young South Korean music video director to film one of her main hits and separately, with Japanese director Daisuke

Shimada for another music video. Both music videos were filmed overseas and

Hebe promised it was definitely something to look forward to.

Taking a drasticall­y different path, Day By Day was released digitally on July 8. For collectors of the physical album, they will have to do so via pre-orders.

According to Hebe, she found out from the record company that there is also a preorder quantity limit imposed as the company would not be producing physical copies exceeding a certain figure. Based on reports from fans in Taiwan, some CD stores stopped taking pre-orders as their quota had been maxed as an outlet.

Sharing on the thoughts behind the album concept, Hebe hoped for everyone to cherish every single day, regardless of how mundane or normal it may be because life is full of surprising twists and turns.

Recounting the themes and rationale behind each of her solo releases, she said that while preparing for her fourth album, she felt it was timely to reflect upon simple things in life, go back to basics, and treasure every moment and every single day we live through, and thus the concept of Day By Day.
