PLAN THE PERFECT PARTY

-

WHETHER it’s a casual game night with girlfriends, a fun family gettogether or a party in the kitchen, Giada De Laurentiis knows how to make it an extraspecial event. In Giada Entertains (airing every Tuesday at 9pm on Food Network (Astro channel 727)), she shares tips, secrets and recipes for planning the perfect party for family and friends.

Catch the new season premiere of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, every Monday at 10pm. Host Guy Fieri takes a cross-country road trip to visit some of America’s classic “greasy spoon” restaurants that have been doing it right for decades. These days, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives are booming again, run by a whole new generation of owners and catering delicious homemade food both to baby boomers and a slew of younger fans. Whether it’s a shack on the side of the highway in Texas or a sports bar in Vegas, these are the kind of places that make America great.

Then tune in to Chopped, every Thursday at 10pm. It is a cooking competition show that’s all about skill, speed and ingenuity. Join four up-and-coming chefs, who take everyday items and turn them into extraordinary three-course meals, as they compete before a panel of three judges.

Course by course, the chefs will be “chopped” from the competition until only one winner remains. The challenge? They only have seconds to plan and 30 minutes to cook an amazing course with the basket of mystery ingredients given to them moments before the clock starts ticking.

Beginning July 30, tune in to Mystery Diners at 10pm. When a restaurant owner suspects that employees are not doing their jobs, they call in the Mystery Diners. They are undercover operatives who go into restaurants, bars and food service establishments with hidden cameras and perform surveillance to find out what’s really going on when the boss isn’t around. Subsequently, the show will air every Thursday at the same time.

Watch four expert bakers go head-tohead in a series of heated challenges in creating the most extraordinary cakes in Cake Wars, airing every Sunday at 6pm. Hosted by Jonathan Bennett, the best cake will take home the grand prize of US$10,000 (RM40,430).
