Media Prima bags 6 awards
AWARENESS: Health Ministry recognises contributions in promoting health issues
MPic by Zulfadhli Zulkifli EDIA Prima Bhd bagged six prizes at the 10th Health Media Awards 2016 at Eastin Hotel here last night.
NTV7 journalist Tan Poh Ling won Best Health Journalism for Television in the Chinese TV programme category and Best Health Journal-
(standing, 10th from right) ism for Promo in the television programme category for her story, “Beauty and the Breast (Breast Cancer)”. She received RM5,000 and a certificate.
Berita Harian journalist, Hazwan Faisal Mohamad, won the consolation prize in the Best Health Journalism in the Bahasa Malaysia newspaper category for his article, Tiga penyakit cegahan vaksin muncul kembali. He received RM500 and a certificate.
TV3 journalist Irin Putri Azmi won the consolation prize in Best Health Journalism for Television in the Bahasa Malaysia TV programme category for her story, Era Baru Dunia Surgeri. She received RM1,000 and a certificate.
Journalists Nur Alisa Yuzni Jamzuri and Muhammad Ridhuan Hussain from NTV7 received the consolation awards in Best Health Journalism for Television in the English TV programme category for Undergoing Angioplasty (Nur Alisa) and World Health Day 2016: Beat Diabetes (Ridhuan). They each received RM1,000 and a certificate.
Eighteen categories for print, television and electronic media were contested in the event organised by the Health Ministry.
The ministry received 323 submissions for the awards compared with 239 submissions last year.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said the award was to recognise the contribution made by the media in promoting awareness on a healthy lifestyle.
“The ministry requires collaboration with the media because health is related to people’s attitude and lives,” said Dr Subramaniam.
