Revenge on their mind

-

GOH V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong are set to play China’s Li Junhui-Liu Yuchen again after reaching the quarter-finals of the Denmark Open yesterday.

The fourth seeded Malaysians faced no problem in seeing off England’s Marcus Ellis-Chris Langridge 21-18, 2117 in the second round in Odense.

V Shem-Wee Kiong are confident they will be able to overcome the China pair this time around, after losing to them in the Korea Open earlier this month.

“We played well , our strategy was well executed and everything went smoothly,” said V Shem when contacted.

“Tomorrow’s (today) match is going to be tricky though, because we lost to them at the Korea Open. However, we are confident of winning this time.”

It was a disappointing day though for women’s doubles Vivian Hoo Kah Mun-Woon Khe Wei, who crashed 21-13, 21-19 to Bulgarian sisters Gabriela-Stefani Stoeva.

World No 1 Lee Chong Wei who had to slog in his first round match against Hong Kong’s Wei Nan, had it slightly better yesterday as he beat India’s H.S. Prannoy 21-10, 22-20.

The tournament top seed plays France’s Brice Leverdez next for a place in the semi-finals.
