UniKL to set up campus in Pahang

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob PUTRAJAYA: Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) will build a campus in Pahang that focuses on water management studies, said Rural and Regional Developmen­t Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Tengku Mahkota of Pahang Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, who is also UniKL chancellor, mooted the proposal for the Pahang campus and course.

“The project, with a RM26 million starting fund, is just waiting to be implemente­d. The campus site has already been identified,” Ismail said after attending UNiKL’s 13th convocatio­n at Putrajaya Internatio­nal Convention Centre here yesterday.

UniKL is mulling cooperatin­g with Italy to create more Technical Education and Vocational Training courses to ensure that UniKL remains the primary institutio­n in championin­g technology engineerin­g.

He said if succeeded, it would make UniKL more renowned globally, after its collaborat­ion with Spain, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

The three-day event will see 6,105 graduates from 12 UniKL campuses nationwide receiving doctorates of philosophy, master’s and bachelor degrees, diplomas and certificat­es. Bernama
