Strive for excellence, UiTM urged
BRIGHTER FUTURE: Continue academic internationalisation, says king
UNIVERSITI Teknologi Mara (UiTM) is urged to focus on excellence in terms of internationalising academic performances and achievements.
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, who is UiTM’s chancellor, was confident UiTM was able to build a brighter future by continuing its internationalisation path in various fields via existing academic programmes.
“Without a doubt, UiTM, which celebrated its 60th establishment anniversary this year, has played a leading role in championing Malay and Bumiputera education, so they are not left out and on a par with other races,” he said at the first session of UiTM’s 85th convocation at Dewan Agung Tuanku Canselor here yesterday.
He reminded the university administrators to continue to provide quality services in order to excel in producing highly-qualified graduates, which were beneficial to the country.
He urged UiTM postgraduates to UiTM Chancellor

At the ceremony, the king consented to the appointments of two new UiTM pro-chancellors, Tun Ahmadshah Abdullah and Tan Sri Safri Awang Zaidell.
A total of 25,720 graduates will receive their scrolls at the UiTM convocation, which will last until Nov 23. Of the figure, 70 graduates will be conferred doctorates in philosophy;
