LATEST MISSION: Company wants to find people who are passionate about mobile gaming content

AFTER the successful hacking of Ejen Ali, with an amazing collective 700,000 downloads since April, Media Prima Labs continues its search for amazing talents as well as interesting mobile game ideas through SEA Game Jam 2016.

The two-day event at Makespace in Quill City Mall gathered 82 talented participants who were passionate about the mobile gaming content.

Media Prima Bhd group general manager of product and Media Prima Labs head Nicholas Sagau said: “We have been seeing a significant growth and great potential in the mobile games industry in Malaysia whereby there is an increase in demand of the content.

“Games developers in Malaysia are also starting to see this as a money-making industry that can be commercialised,” he added.

All of the contestants brought their best games in order to develop new game prototype centred around a few interesting themes, which mostly based on Media Prima’s original intellectual properties including kid-centric games and few more themes that were truly a challenge for them.

Working, non-stop for 36 hours, all of the participants showed great enthusiasm and this can be seen through their interactive games content, design and features.

The main objective of SEA Game Jam 2016 is to develop mobile games within a short period of time as well as showcasing some great teamwork between local and international talents.

It aims to nurture new and young talents as well as serve as the platform for all game fans to further equip themselves with knowledge through the sharing session and the Participants at jointly organised by Media Prima Labs and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation at the Quill City Mall, in Kuala Lumpur recently. Media Prima Labs hopes to inspire more people to get into game development and bring out the best of Southeast Asian talents.

The participants will present their ideas and game prototypes in a special pitching session at the Intercontinental Hotel, here, today and the winner will be announced at the same venue tomorrow.
