MPB Primeworks Studio CEO awarded datukship

MALACCA: Media Prima Berhad Primeworks Studio chief executive officer Ahmad Izham Omar was among the 68 who were conferred the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM) award, which carries the title “Datuk”, on the third and final session of state awards and medals in conjunctio­n with Malacca Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob’s 78th birthday here yesterday.

Other recipients of DPSM include EDRA Power Holdings Sdn Bhd chairman Lin Jian and Utusan Malaysia editor Zulkefli Hamzah. A total of 425 recipients were conferred state awards yesterday. Heading the honours list was Oriental Food Industries Holdings Bhd managing director Datuk Son Chen Chuan who was conferred the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (DGSM) award, which carries the title “Datuk Seri”.

Eight people were conferred the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Malacca (DCSM) award, which carries the title “Datuk Wira”.

They were Health Ministry deputy director-general (medical) Datuk Dr S. Jeyaindran, Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd deputy chairman Datuk Seri Tan Hui Jing, Masjid Tanah Umno division deputy chief Datuk Abd Talib Bachek and Malaysian Institute of Historical and Patriotism Studies chairman Adjunct Professor Datuk Dr Mohd Jamil Mukmin.

Five other recipients were conferred the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM) award, which carries the title “Datuk”.

They were Malaysia’s Ambassador to France Datuk Ibrahim Abdullah and Protection Division director-general at the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Mazlan Lazim.
