Speedy, seamless service at clinic and hospital

-

I RECENTLY took my brother to a government hospital to get a letter for a medical condition he suffered following a road accident.

I drove to Klang and ended up at Klinik Kesihatan Anika and it was a wise decision, by default. Within minutes after registration, we were called in to have his blood pressure checked. Ten minutes after that, we were done, with medical officer Dr Poongkodi calmly and promptly explaining that she could not issue the letter for an injury that happened eight years ago.

We left the clinic with a referral to the orthopaedic specialist at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR).

It was my first visit to the clinic in 35 years and I was pleasantly surprised with its efficiency. Everything was in place from the moment you walk in, leaving nothing to chance, which I think contributes to less waiting time.

At the specialist clinic, more wonders awaited us, but only pleasant ones. With the referral we just got, we did not expect to see the specialist on the same day, what more when the waiting room was full of patients who came with appointments.

Again, to my surprise, we got to see the specialist, Dr Samuel Jonathan, who referred my brother for an X-ray, which was done in 30 minutes. We returned to see Dr Samuel with the X-ray for a detailed diagnosis, which he did in a pleasant demeanour.

We were on our way out of the hospital at noon, with the medication, a follow-up appointment and the much-needed letter, with a great sense of satisfaction.

The hospital was a hive of activity, with doctors, nurses and staff scurrying about carrying out their duties with diligence that I have never seen before.

I wish to congratulate Klinik Anika and the HTAR community for doing a great job. This shows that we have things to be grateful for, still.

Kudos to HTAR and thank you!
