New appointmen­ts made to 3 commission­s

PUTRAJAYA: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa yesterday announced new appointmen­ts and a reappointm­ent to the Public Service Commission (PSC), Education Service Commission (ESC) and Election Commission (EC).

Former Natural Resources and Environmen­t Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Zoal Azha Yusof was appointed PSC deputy chairman.

ESC chairman Tan Sri Dr Haili Dolhan was reappointe­d for a twoyear term.

Former Communicat­ions and Multimedia Ministry senior division secretary (management) Datuk Bala Singam Karupiah has been appointed an EC member.

Ali also announced five new PSC members — former Public Service Department post-service division director Datuk Yeow Chin Keong; former Sarawak Federal Secretary Datuk Md Yahaya Basimin; former Public-Private Partnershi­p Unit deputy senior director-general Datuk Abdul Ghafar Musa; former Higher Education Ministry deputy secretary-general (developmen­t) Datuk Nasir Mohd Dam; and, former Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya Health Department director Datuk Dr Narimah Nor Yahaya.

ESC members are former Education Ministry deputy director-general (teacher profession­alism developmen­t) Datuk Misrah Ibrahim; former Education Ministry deputy director-general (operations) Datuk Sufa’at Tumin; former Aminuddin Baki Institutio­n director Serina Sauni; former Education Ministry Curriculum Developmen­t Division director Masnah Ali Muda; Institute of Teacher Education deputy rector Datuk Dr Lee Boon Hua; former Polytechni­c Education Department director-general Datuk Mohlis Jaafar; former Finance Ministry Strategy and Communicat­ion Division secretary Datuk S. Kumaran Santhivalo­o; and, former Health Ministry Policy and Internatio­nal Relation Division secretary Choy Lup Bong.

“Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah has consented to the appointmen­ts.

“All appointmen­ts are for a threeyear term, effective from the date they take their oath of office and allegiance,” Ali said.
