Dr M not invited to DAP conference
Perak Menteri Besar plaque to inaugurate the yesterday. Pic by Muhaizan Yahya KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will not be invited to DAP’s national conference on Dec 4.
DAP national organising secretary Anthony Loke said this was because PPBM was not part of the Pakatan Harapan coalition, which is made up of DAP, PKR and Parti Amanah Negara (PAN).
“No, we only invited the presidents and deputy presidents of PKR and PAN,” he said at DAP’s headquarters here yesterday.
He added that it was customary for DAP to limit its invitation to only top leaders of the opposition coalition.
DAP has urged Umno to sack its Supreme Council member, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, and his son over the scuffle in front of the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday.
Loke said the incident was unacceptable, and that respect must be given to the august house as it was the highest lawmaking body in the country.

“I’m sure Tajuddin’s son is a member of Umno. They should take action against him,” he said.
Loke was responding to an incident on Thursday, involving Tajuddin’s son, Faizal, who along with a group of 30 men, ambushed Shah Alam member of parliament Khalid Samad.
Faizal is Pasir Salak Umno Youth chief.
The angry mob, made up of Umno members from Pasir Salak, had jeered and charged at Khalid as he entered the Parliament building.
During Monday’s question-and-answer session, Tajuddin had caused an uproar when he said: “The only woman with a ‘Kok’ is in Seputeh”, referring to Seputeh MP Teresa Kok.
However, Deputy Speaker Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee came to his defence, saying that Tajuddin was only referring to Kok’s surname.
Angered by the incident, Khalid came to Kok’s defence and called Tajuddin “sial” (damned), prompting the latter to warn the PAN lawmaker that he would take legal action against him.
