The largest agricultur­e and agro-based industrial exhibition returns with four new attraction­s, writes Elaine Yim

of the different DIY equipment such as self-irrigation, fertigatio­n, hydroponic systems for growing plants. This way, we could learn how to organicall­y grow herbs and vegetables in our small apartment balconies and indoor spaces.

Visitors will get to learn about the different breeds of livestock such as fish, fowl and cattle, and see how they are reared as farm animals. They will also be able to see how these animals look like from babies to adulthood. Children will have a thrilling time touching little chicks or ducklings, and learning how a billy goat (male), nanny goat (female) and kid (baby goat) look like. Many adults too may not have seen all the different types of live sea creatures that end up on our dinner table.

In addition to the above, there will be 14 state pavilions showcasing each of the different states’ unique architectu­ral designs, culture, ethnic food and natural produce.

The outdoor section will be most interestin­g part for the whole family, young and old.

AGRICULTUR­AL BAZAAR

This is the most exciting venue for any home gardener looking for bargains on garden plants, flowers and accessorie­s. There are big covered indoor bazaars as well as outdoor stalls that sell food, beverages, and fresh and cheap farmers produce which are restocked at regular intervals. Here you can find all kinds of local fruits, fruit trees, plant cuttings, seedlings and saplings.

TRANSPORTA­TION AND LOGISTICS

Cars can enter via Gate 1 using the Hospital Serdang way or Gate 2 using the South Klang Valley Expressway. Wazers can search for MAEPS Serdang. Do adhere to the security personnel instructio­ns and park at the designated parking areas. Thereafter, you can walk to the main entrances where internal free “hop-on and hop-off” buses will ferry you around. There are guides and volunteers stationed at strategic locations to assist and give directions.
