-

WHERE

At the corner of Jalan Kepong Baru-Jalan Ambong 4 junction, Kepong Baru, Kuala Lumpur

OPENING HOURS

Open seven days a week 11am to 11pm

GETTING THERE

It is located along the Jalan Kepong Baru, off Jalan Kepong. If you are coming from the city along Jalan Kepong, Jalan Kepong Baru is to your left.

The turn into Jalan Kepong Baru is 350 metres from the grey-coloured Buddhist Tzu-Chi complex along

Jalan Kepong. Once you are in Jalan Kepong Baru, just drive straight for about 400 metres and you will be at the junction of Jalan Kepong Baru and Jalan Ambong 4 to your right. Diagonally from the junction, you should see the Kedai Makanan Lim Meng

Kee signboard. KTZ Food is its immediate neighbour.

WHAT’S COOKING

Traditional Chinese snacks and desserts that Asian mothers used to cook.

MUST-TRY

Hakka minced meat noodles, yam cakes and Shanghai rice rolls. For desserts, try the mung bean soup, black glutinous rice porridge and bubur cha-cha.

YOU’LL PAY

About RM10 per person for a bowl of dessert and some light snacks. Expect to pay a little more if you want to add noodles to your eating spree.

ATMOSPHERE

Under-the-tree kind of hawker-centre ambience, a little noisy sometimes, since it is located beside the road.

SERVICE

Waitresses are attentive and clean up the tables once they see only scraps left on your plates.

OVERALL VERDICT

Prices here are reasonable. Parking is plentiful along the neighbourhood during weekends and evenings. During the day, however, it can be quite challenging.
