New book on Najib, Razak leadership

-

KUALA LUMPUR: A book on the leadership legacy of Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his father, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, in developing the country as prime ministers was launched here yesterday.

Titled Kesetiaan Sepanjang Hayat, Najib launched the 664-page book published by the Foundation of Research on Transformation (FORT).

The fifth and special edition of the book was written by the prime minister’s adviser and senior research officer Professor Datuk Seri Khairil Annas Jusoh and Dr Sabri Mohamad Sharif.

Najib said the book was not only meaningful to him, but also to the history of the country in the last 70 years.

“I hope the book can be a guide for all of us to know the course of our politics and leaders for us to use all good things in it as a guidance and improve our weaknesses.

“Hopefully, we can all be a more trustworthy and respectful race,” he said at the launch, which was also attended by Wanita Umno chief Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil at the Putra World Trade Centre, where the 70th Umno General Assembly was being held.

Khairil said the book was the first compilation to combine Najib’s life since 1976 with Razak’s administration. He said almost 20 years were spent on collecting data based on his personal observation and as adviser to the prime minister.

“Hopefully, this book could awaken the Malays, Muslims and Bumiputera to appreciate the achievements enjoyed in this country, and the struggles that past leaders went through in developing it.”

A total of 5,000 copies of the book would be distributed for free to delegates and the public during the assembly.
