This follows the clash between Satu Hati and 08 gang members in Dengkil on Sunday, where two shots were fired from a pistol belonging to one of the gang members.

Police rounded up 20 suspects following the 2.30am incident. Those arrested, in their 20s and 30s, are locals from Dengkil.

Selangor police chief Datuk Abdul Samah Mat said police have determined Pahang police chief at the new Pekan police headquarters yesterday. Pic by Farizul Hafiz Awang that the fight transpired from a territorial dispute between the two groups.

Both the gangs have been active in illegal activities, including extortion, in the Dengkil area.

“Police are taking this case seriously. We plan to use Poca and Sosma against these gang members,” he said, at the Selangor police headquarters, here, yesterday, after presenting the Employees Excellence Awards to 137 police officers, personnel and civilian officers.

He said 17 of the suspects had been remanded until Saturday, while three others would be detained until Monday to facilitate investigations.

“We have identified the person who fired the shots, and we are working to find where he had hidden the firearm.”

Abdul Samah said the overall index crime in Selangor this year (until Dec 27) recorded a 3.48 per cent drop with 30,952 cases compared with 32,069 cases last year.

He said there had been slight increases in cases of robbery without firearms, causing hurt, thefts and snatch thefts.
