Kit Siang should face Tunku Aziz, says ex-DAP branch chief

-

BUTTERWORTH: A debate between former DAP vice-chairman Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim and embattled party adviser Lim Kit Siang can reveal the latter’s “true colours” and “cruel political approach”.

In expressing support for the debate to be held, former DAP Bagan Luar branch chief G. Asoghan described Tunku Aziz as a suitable contender.

“Malaysians should know Kit Siang’s true face. He is a dictator and there has been no democracy in the party for the past 51 years. Kit Siang’s political cruelty is well known among DAP members. The debate will expose DAP as anti-democracy.

“I fully support for the debate to be carried out and Lim should not run away from this,” he said here yesterday.

Last Tuesday, Tunku Aziz challenged Kit Siang to a debate on the proposition that his party was essentially a dictatorship, on the heels of the Gelang Patah lawmaker’s decision to have a Malay leading the Pakatan Harapan pact.

Asoghan, who is now People’s Alternative Party’s (PAP) national publicity secretary, claimed he was among those who were disliked and, subsequently, removed from the party by Kit Siang,

He predicted that state DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow and national vice-chairman Dr Tan Seng Giaw would be placed on the chopping block soon.

Asoghan claimed that Chow, despite his senior position, was not accorded the same opportunity to lead the state, unlike Kit Siang’s son, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

“Chow is surrounded with Kit Siang’s people. It is only a matter of time before he is removed. He will never be the next Penang chief minister.”
