Spurs scary at White Hart Lane

-

LONDON: Dele Alli believes Tottenham have been ‘unreal’ at home this season and reckons visiting sides are now scared of playing at White Hart Lane.

England midfielder Alli hit a wonderful opening goal in Saturday’s comfortable 4-0 win over Watford to give Spurs their sixth straight Premier League victory.

It keeps them seven points behind leaders Chelsea and, with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United still to visit, Alli is delighted with Tottenham’s home comforts.

“We were very clinical,” he said of the win over the Hornets, in which Son Heung Min hit a brace after Eric Dier doubled the hosts’ lead.

“When you’ve played like that it gives the team a huge boost. It was a fantastic performance from everyone, and I don’t just mean the players on the pitch,” Alli said.

“The staff and the crowd were fantastic, they drove us on and gave us the confidence and belief that we could go on after the first goal and get more goals.

“Teams are going to be scared to come here, we’ve been unreal here.”

Alli feels last season’s ultimately failed title bid could help Mauricio Pochettino’s side this time round as they look to haul in Chelsea.

“We’re all enjoying what we’re doing and that’s important,” he added.

“We’ve learned a lot from last season, we know we can’t get drawn too much into things, we just have to keep doing what we’re doing and make sure we win our games.

“That’s all we can do. We have to do our jobs.” Daily Mail
