Frustrated Hafizh ends in 10th place

- Farah Azharie

MALAYSIAN Moto2 rider Hafizh Syahrin finished 10th at the Argentina MotoGP on Sunday in a time of 40mins 15.969secs.

For Hafizh, the main struggle was being stuck behind South African Brad Binder, who eventually finished ninth.

“I had a good start and tried my best to fight but when I pushed harder and harder, I still ended up with almost the same timing.

“Being stuck behind a slower rider did not help as well, we will continue to work, improve and hopefully progress well in Austin.”

Hafizh is now 16th overall with six points after two races.

Khairul Idham Pawi of Idemitsu Honda Team Asia continued his string of bad performances, recording a time of 40:49.107s finish 24th out of 25 classified riders.

In Moto3, SIC Racing Team’s Adam Norrodin ended his second race in 17th place (38:52.238s), 18.861s from winner Spaniard Joan Mir.

“We had a chance to get more points, so I’m disappointed with my result.”

Adam’s teammate, Japan’s Ayumu Sasaki ended his run in 20th place with a time of 39:00.282s.

Overall, Adam is now 15th with six points with Ayumu in 17th with five points.
