Pas vs DAP in Pahang?

-

KUANTAN: The strained ties between Pas and DAP could prompt the Islamic party to contest 10 parliamentary and 30 state seats in Pahang in the upcoming 14th General Election.

Pahang Pas commissioner Rosli Abdul Jabar said the proposal was justified due to the current political scenario, including Pas’s sour relations with DAP.

In the last general election, the party contested six parliamentary and 21 state seats in Pahang.

He said the “ambitious” move was meant to prove that Pas did not need to rely on other parties, and that it was prepared to take over the Pahang government.

“After Pas cut ties with DAP, the party has all the freedom to decide to contest any seats which were previously contested by DAP.

“In short, where DAP, PKR and Parti Amanah Negara field their candidates, we will nominate our own candidate to contest.

“The move has been discussed and confirmed at the state level. We will hear what the central leadership has to say,” he said after the Pahang Pas Convention here.
