Primeworks apologises to Watson Nyambek over remarks

-

PRIMEWORKS Studios Sdn Bhd has issued an apology to former national sprinter Watson Nyambek over its Sukan Tak Sentral television programme, which had belittled his father.

It was issued by Primeworks Studios chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar on behalf of TV3 and TV9 yesterday.

“We would like to humbly offer our sincerest apology to Watson Nyambek for the degrading re- marks made over his father’s good name. Primeworks Studios has issued a reminder to all em- ployees to be observant and sen- sitive when producing all our programmes.

“We have conducted a review of our work methods and operations to avoid a recurrence of such matters. The incident has served as a lesson for us to be more aware of our surroundings,” Izham said.

He said Primeworks Studios had suspended the service of the presenter.

The studio, he said, held Watson in the highest regards for his outstanding contributions to the nation.

“We have the highest respect for Watson, his father and family. We would like again to convey our apologies for the mistake and will ensure that such incidents will never happen again.”
