Kids' health at stake

-

THE corner of Jalan Pegaga 24/31 in Section 24, Shah Alam has become a favourite haunt for people to illegally dump rubbish.

Garden waste, paper boxes, plastic bottles and polystyrene packaging were probably thrown by irresponsible residents, claimed Ahmad.

“It has been going on for quite some time and was probably the work of irresponsible residents in the area.

“The cleaning contractor clears the rubbish regularly, but the very next day, the corner is filled again with waste.

“The garbage is not only an eyesore but also a threat to public health, particularly to children as it is located near a kindergarten.

“I hope the Shah Alam City Council will take immediate action to curb the problem. Perhaps a “No Littering” signboard could be placed there.”
