Wahid: Malaysians are turning into savvy investors

-

TEMERLOH: In just three days beginning April 20, more than 110,000 people have visited the Malaysian Unit Trust Week (MSAM 2017) at Temerloh Square, here.

Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar said based on the encouraging turnout, he was confident the target of 150,000 visitors would be achieved when the programme ends tomorrow.

“The people’s resounding response to MSAM 2017 shows that our community is becoming more aware of the importance of obtaining information on managing finance and investment.

“Since MSAM was first organised in 2007, there has been a marked change in the perception of the people on the importance of savings and investment, as seen from the increasing number of investors who saved in unit trust schemes offered by PNB,” he said.

Wahid was speaking at the MSAM 2017 Appreciation Dinner here on Saturday night.

The closing ceremony of MSAM 2017, which was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on April 20, will be officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. Bernama
