Reject DAP’s politics of hatred, says its former Selangor chief

-

TEMERLOH: Former DAP member Ong Chee Keong has cautioned the people, particularly the Chinese community, to reject DAP that is set to lead Pakatan Harapan in the 14th General Election (GE14).

Ong, who is now People’s Progressive Party (MyPPP) vicepresident, said what the party had done in opposition-led states, like Selangor and Penang, did not go down well with the people.

The former Selangor DAP chief said there was no space for DAP’s politics of hatred and called on people to reject them, similar to the 1999 general election where the party only won 10 parliamentary seats.

“I hope the Chinese community will not support or vote for DAP in the GE14.

“Rejecting them will be a sign that the people are wise and not easily duped by their propaganda.

“DAP is presenting a dictatorlike leadership where the father (Lim Kit Siang) and son (Lim Guan Eng) are running the show.

“In the past, Kit Siang always labelled Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as a dictator.

“But, now they share the same aim to bring down Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.”

Ong was with DAP for 15 years. He described the resignation of DAP members in the country, including recently in Malacca, as proof of the people’s loss of trust in the party’s leadership and its original struggle.
