Stay united with Najib, says Pak Lah

GEORGE TOWN: Continue to remain united and loyal under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

This was former prime minister and former Umno president Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s message to all Umno members ahead of the party’s 71st anniversary celebration tomorrow.

Only by remaining united and loyal to the president, he said, could they ensure that the people were served to the fullest.

“And with that, the people can feel the sincerity of the services given by Umno, especially in fighting for the rights of the Malays, without sidelining the other races,” he said yesterday.

Umno, Abdullah said, had faced numerous crises.

“However, thanks to the trust and loyalty of members, the party has managed to overcome all crises with wisdom.

“Past crises should serve as a guidance for the party to continue to remain relevant. The people’s trust in Umno will only remain if the party is seen as sincere in fighting for their rights.”

Abdullah also said the cooperation between Umno and other Barisan Nasional component parties was the essence in ensuring continuity of the country’s administration since Independence.
