Decomposing body found with neck broken

-

KUALA LUMPUR: A man whose badly decomposed body was found in a unit at Flat Sri Penara in Bandar Permaisuri Cheras was strangled so hard that his neck was broken.

Cheras police chief Assistant Commissioner Chong Kok Sin said the post mortem examination on the man’s body revealed that the 32-year-old died due to ligature strangulation, which snapped his neck.

He is believed to have been strangled while his wrists were tied with hair dryer and mobile phone power cords.

He said the deceased’s mother and stepfather had gone to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre to identify and claim the body.

Chong said police were still investigating the case and had yet to identify the murderer.

On Monday, police found the half-naked body sprawled face down next to the bed in a messy room.

There was a towel wrapped around his neck.

It is learnt that the victim’s neighbours alerted police on a foul smell coming from the unit. Neighbours said the man had lived alone in the house.
