Staggering cost of United’s overhaul

MANCHESTER: The astronomic­al figures paid by Manchester United to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovi­c and Paul Pogba last summer have been revealed.

United are set to finish outside the Premier League’s top four despite capturing two of the biggest names in football on jaw-dropping contracts, negotiated by agent Mino Raiola.

Ibrahimovi­c is the best-paid player in the Premier League on £367,640 (RM2 million) a week, totalling just over £19 million a year. He is also due £2.86 million in goal bonuses.

Pogba earns a basic wage of £8.61 million, equating to £165,588 a week, and will receive an annual loyalty bonus in excess of £3.4 million from next year.

Astonishin­g details of the contracts agreed between United and Raiola for Ibrahimovi­c are revealed in a book to be published in Germany tomorrow.

It has also emerged that Raiola will be paid over £41 million after bringing Pogba to United from Juventus for a world record £89 million transfer fee.
