Producing quality graduates

-

THE Faculty of Business and Accountancy (FOBA) at SEGi University & Colleges is at the forefront of producing innovative business graduates to meet the growing industry demands. This is made possible through the most comprehensive business education offered at SEGi. Students are exposed to a myriad of key economic issues, and hence, have high employment prospects.

The results speak for themselves. Our accounting and finance graduates have a 100 per cent employment rate within three months of graduation.

SEGi also collaborates with some of the best universities across the globe to develop suitable curriculum in response to the competitive market demands.

For example, students may opt to pursue a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) International Business and Finance (3+0) or a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) International Business and Marketing (3+0) at SEGi, awarded by Keele University in the United Kingdom.

Keele University has received numerous recognition for its quality education, such as Top 4 Per Cent of the World’s Universities by Times Higher Education World University Rankings for two consecutive years in 2015 and 2016, and 1st for Employability by Higher Education Statistics Agency 2016, among some of the many on its list.

As the business world becomes increasingly challenging, it is necessary to ensure SEGi graduates are prepared. Therefore, SEGi keeps the curriculum up-to-date and relevant to the current business demands.

There are numerous other business programmes at SEGi, such as 3+0 UK degree programmes, partnering with universities across the UK, including Abertay University, University of Greenwich, York St John University and University of Sunderland, among others.

Despite the Malaysian economy performing well in the last few years, inflation continues to rise. As a result, parents may need to double up their savings for their kids’ education expenses. SEGi has everything you need for your kids. We have developed a value for money home-grown degree programme.

The programme, in collaboration with one of Scotland’s leading universities, Abertay University, will award graduates with two degrees — one from SEGi and another from Abertay. Students can choose from a few programmes, which are Bachelor of Accounting (Hons); Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (Hons); Bachelor of Business Management (Hons) with specialisations in Human Resource Management, General Management, Financial Management or Marketing Management.

The quality of curriculum is assured due to stringent regulations by Abertay on a regular basis. Lecturers from Dundee Business School of Abertay University will impart knowledge to SEGi students from time to time. This double degree programme is an excellent choice for students to get two degrees for the price of one.

At SEGi, we also believe that learning goes beyond the classroom and curriculum. Therefore, we provide our students with unparalleled access to some of the industry’s biggest players, including, but not limited to, the managing partner of a private equity firm, Nicholas Rupert Heylett Bloy.

Nicholas of Navis Capital Partners, a leading private equity firm in Asia with seven offices in Asean, has vast knowledge and experiences in various industries, including consumer and industrial goods, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, electronics and financial services.

The business and accounting school in SEGi, established in 1977, has attained a prestigious status for its success in producing career-ready graduates. As the largest and oldest faculty in SEGi, it knows what it takes to prepare the students upon graduation.
