Charo emerge champions in inaugural meet

CHARO FT emerged as the Under16 champions of the inaugural Selangor Junior Futsal League after a 7-2 win over Darul Naim FT in the final at the Real Sports Arena in Klang recently.

A total of RM20,000 was on offer to winning teams in the league which is split into two four age-groups and played over two months.

Over 700 players representi­ng 45 teams, consisting of amateur futsal clubs and futsal academies from Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, battled hard to showcase their skills and lead their teams to success.

In the other age-group finals, Court Soccer FC claimed the Under-15 title with a 2-0 win over Eleven Red Eagles while SMK Seksyen 18 edged Putra MB Jr 43 on penalties after the Under-14 final ended 3-3.

Putra MB Kids dominated the Under-13 final for a deserved 6-0 win over 9 Lions thanks to a hattrick by Abdul Raziq.

The Selangor Junior Futsal League is organised by Football Selangor, the brainchild of the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddi­n Idris Shah to unearth talent at the grassroots level.

Among other programmes run by Football Selangor are the Selangor Champions League, Selangor Super Cup, Selangor Legends Trophy, Selangor Grassroots League and Selangor Football Day.

The futsal league was sponsored by Biforst Group with the support of the Section 13 Extreme Park and Shah Alam City Council.
