Milan latest to join the queue for Dembele

-

LONDON: AC Milan have become the latest club to show an interest in Moussa Dembele as Celtic brace themselves for a series of bids for their coveted French striker.

Reports in Italy claim Milan have already made their move for the 20-year-old, while French media have added Marseille to a list of potential suitors that also includes Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla.

Dembele has enjoyed a thoroughly successful debut campaign at Celtic since his transfer from Fulham for a development fee of just £500,000 (RM2.8 million).

The French Under-21 internationalist scored 32 goals as Brendan Rodgers’ team went unbeaten in completing a domestic treble and also participated in the Champions League for the first time.

A bidding war could push Dembele’s market value beyond the £30 million mark, but boss Rodgers has consistently stated that there will be no rush to sell a player who still has another three years of his contract to run.

Speaking ahead of last month’s Scottish Cup Final, Dembele seemed in sync with his manager’s position, stating: “I’ve got a four-year contract here so it’s just speculation. I haven’t said that I’m going to leave the club.

“There is always room for development, especially when you have a manager like Brendan Rodgers.

“You want to play in the Champions League and I’ve had the chance to do it this season. I think Celtic is the best place for me to be.” Daily Mail
