Boy suffered injuries to intestines, broken ribs and thigh

AMARRIED couple were charged at the magistrates’ court here yesterday with murdering their 9-year-old son last month.

Aaron Teoh Eng Wan, 34, and his wife, En Sit Mooi, 36, nodded their heads to indicate they understood the charge read to them before magistrate Zaki Asyraf Zubir.

They were alleged to have murdered their son, Adrian Teoh Wai Kit, by hitting the boy repeatedly with a cane at Lanna Pure Thai Massage, 19-2, Jalan USJ 1/1, Regalia Business Centre in Subang Jaya, at 3.30pm on May 26.

They were also charged at the Sessions Court with abusing the boy at the same place and time. They pleaded not guilty.

As a result of the abuse, the victim suffered injuries to the intestines, broken ribs and a broken thigh.

Judge Azwarnida Affandi fixed July 12 for mention pending a post-mortem report.

Deputy public prosecutors Natasha Chin Le Jy and Nadiah Malik Fauzie prosecuted. The accused were not represented.

The boy was believed to have been punched and caned by his parents, which allegedly led to his death.

Subang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohammad Azlin Sadari, in a statement on May 28, said police received a call from a clinic in Subang Jaya informing them of the boy’s death.

He said the doctor at the clinic said the parents brought in their son, but he was already dead.

“Initial investigations showed there were bruises on the boy’s face, hands, legs and buttocks.”
