Ice cream-peddling Biology student charms Netizens

-

LANGKAWI: Undergraduate Noor Syamimi Azhari does not mind rolling up her sleeves to do an honest day’s work.

Despite the scorching sun, it has not discouraged the 22-yearold lass from following the footsteps of her father to sell icecream from a motorcycle.

Donning a headscarf and clad in a long-sleeved shirt and pants, Syamimi rides to various areas in Kuah town and nearby villages to sell the thirst-quenching dessert.

To the final-year Biology student of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), her routine is normal as she has been doing it since the completion of her Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.

Her charm and beauty while hard at work, however has since received high praise from Netizens.

Syamimi said she had wanted to help her father sell ice cream right after finishing SPM, but her mother Noor Azizah Hamid, 50, forbade her from doing it.

“She feared that something could happen to me, but my father, Azhari Hashim, assured her that I will be safe.

“He becomes my ‘bodyguard’ and follows me when I sell the icecream from village to village,” she said here yesterday.

Syamimi said she grew up watching her 50-year-old father selling ice cream and it inspired her to learn the ropes of doing the business.

She does not stop at selling ice cream: Syamimi sells lunch packs, provides make-up services and does part-time modelling while studying at UPM.

Syamimi admitted that she had yet to decide on a career after her graduation next June.

“I am studying to become a Biology teacher, but my passion has always been business.

“So, I will continue selling ice cream after graduation,” she said, adding that she would not decline if a teaching post was offered.
