MEDIA PRIMA ANNUAL REPORT WINS BRONZE AWARD

International recognition for group’s 2015 annual report titled ‘Everyone Counts’

- KUALA LUMPUR

MEDIA Prima Bhd’s 2015 annual report bagged bronze recognition at the Australasia Reporting Awards (ARA) during an award presentation ceremony in Melbourne, Australia, on Wednesday.

Media Prima, Malaysia’s largest fully-integrated media group, entered the ARA with its 2015 annual report, titled “Everyone Counts”, produced by the group’s corporate communica- tions department.

“We are very honoured by this recognition. It is a reflection of the close cooperation within the group in producing an important report that details our financial and business performance, while at the same time promoting our creative industry,” said Media Prima group corporate communications general manager Azlan Abdul Aziz in a statement.

He said every year, producing the annual report became more challenging as criteria and regulations were tightened and finetuned by the financial market and stock-broking authorities.

“There is also the element of costs to be mindful of along the way. However, this international award will definitely act as a booster for us to do better in the future,” said Azlan.

Established in 1950, the annual ARA was set up to encourage excellence in the preparation of annual reports while improving the standards of financial reporting and communication with stakeholders.

It is administered by Australasian Reporting Awards Ltd, an independent not-for-profit organisation run by volunteer professionals from the business, government and not-for profit sectors, with the support of professional bodies concerned with the quality of financial and business reporting.

Each year, more than 700 submissions are received to be judged.

Last year, Malayan Banking Bhd won the gold award, while Tenaga Nasional Bhd took home the bronze medal.
