KEDAH EXHIBIT TO DRAW 20,000
Property showcase also set to attract housebuyers from Penang
MORE than 20,000 visitors are expected to attend the threeday New Straits Times Press (NSTP) MyRumah Property Showcase at Aman Central Mall in Alor Star, Kedah, from Aug 4 to 6.
NSTP sales implementation and advertisement general manager Zulkarnain Abd Talib said this was a conservative estimate as the mall was located in a strategic area.
“We have been made to understand that this mall is busy during weekends,” he said here yesterday.
Zulkarnain said Aman Central Mall was chosen as the venue due to its close proximity to Penang, which he added that experienced a property boom in recent years.
“Penang itself is huge and we believe that the demand (for property) will trickle into Kedah as there are opportunities in the north that will attract investors,” he said during the showcase’s briefing yesterday.
Zulkarnain said the first two showcases here and in Johor Baru saw 37 property units worth RM30 million being snapped up.
Present was Datuk Seri Dr Vincent Tiew from the consultancy company, SuperiorWealth Resources Sdn Bhd, who is a guest speaker for the upcoming showcase.
Also invited as a guest speaker is acclaimed international investment lawyer Datuk Seri Matthew Yeoh, who will speak on the impact of China’s One Belt One Road policy and the High-Speed Rail on the country’s northern region.
Zulkarnain said the showcase was looking at expanding to other states.
He said this was in line with the showcase’s aim to make homes affordable to all Malaysians, adding that MyRumah aimed to educate housebuyers on how to make informed choices.
Also present were Harian Metro deputy group editor Ahmad@Salim Bachok and Lepro System Bhd operations manager Chern Chin Yee. The event is supported by Grab and Lepro.
