COUNTRY GARDEN TO START HANDING OVER UNITS NEXT MONTH
Country Garden says up to 3,000 owners will receive their keys next month
CHINESE property giant Country Garden Holdings Co Ltd has raked in nearly RM7 billion from the sales of residential units at its massive Danga Bay project, here.
Country Garden, through its unit Country Garden Danga Bay Sdn Bhd (CGDB), has sold more than 90 per cent of the available units.
About 70 per cent of the buyers were foreigners, including those from China, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea and Japan, said its regional sales and marketing general manager Alex Zhao.
“We have recorded about RM6.7 billion in turnover from the sales of these units.”
He was speaking after a ceremony to mark the start of the handover of units to the owners yesterday.
The ceremony was officiated by Country Garden Properties (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd regional president Jason Fu.
“We plan to hand over between 2,000 and 3,000 units next month,” said Zhao.
CGDB expects to hand over 5,000 residential units in the multi-billion ringgit development by the end of the year.
Zhao said the remaining 3,500 units would be handed over to their owners by the end of next year.
Fu said the company paid careful attention to each part of the development, sticking strictly to construction requirements, and made sure that the property met the desired quality.
“The handover will not only strengthen confidence in us by our buyers and the public, but also serves as another milestone achieved by Country Garden Group,” said Fu.
CGDB launched the project on a 23.06ha site fronting the Johor Straits in Danga Bay in August 2013.
It comprised 8,500 condominium and commercial units as well as a shopping mall.
The project’s gross development value for the three development phases was estimated at RM18 billion.
