LIKE any other industry, the property market has its highs and lows but interestingly, no one ever stops investing in it. The question has always been “when, where and what property do we investment in?”

With the rise of technology and deluge of information, how does one make strategic decisions, either to buy, sell or rent out?

“Navigating the Malaysian property market can be a daunting affair, especially for those who are just starting out,” said Khalil Adis, the founder of Khalil Adis Consultancy and former editor of Property Report.

Khalil will be among the 30 speakers and real estate experts who will give talks and take part in forums, held as part of the interactive content of The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Bhd’s (NSTP) MyRumah Property Showcase at Aman Central Mall in Alor Star from 10am to 10pm on August 4-6.

“I will be speaking about the eight property trends that investors should watch out for,” he said.

Another speaker is Siva Shanker, head of investment with Axis REIT Managers Bhd and past-president of Malaysia Institute of Estate Agents.

He will speak on the changing trends in real estate.

“Real estate trends have changed in the last 40 years. The rate of change is increasing, especially in the last few years,” said Shanker.

“The savvy investors will need to keep up with changes in order to stay ahead of the curve. They must know what to look for, what changes to anticipate and how to approach property investment in order to make the best possible gains for themselves,” added Shanker.

The NSTP MyRumah Property Showcase will offer a wide range of property units from renowned property developers in the northern region.

It will be the best place for the public to get first-hand information on latest offerings from property developers, ranging from residential to commercial units.
